Evan Cordrey, MD

Dr. Cordrey is originally from Denver, Colorado, and he has always had a passion for caring for the whole person. After completing his undergraduate degree in psychology from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, Dr. Cordrey did a full year of research in Pediatric Audiology at Boys Town National Research Hospital. He then completed Medical School at the Creighton University School of Medicine Phoenix Campus in Arizona before being accepted to the University of Virginia General Adult Psychiatry Residency Program. 

As a resident physician during the COVID-19 Pandemic, Dr. Cordrey gained knowledge in areas of Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, and Adult and Child Neurology in addition to completing his Adult Psychiatry requirements. He remained at the University of Virginia for his Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship and served as Chief Fellow in his final year.  

As both an Adult and Child Psychiatrist, Dr. Cordrey has experience treating psychiatric disorders across the lifespan including Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Psychosis and Anxiety/Mood disorders. Dr. Cordrey has the benefit of training in multiple psychotherapy modalities as well as understanding the utility (and limitations) of medications to assist with management of various mental health issues.
